ومدي التشابه بينه وبين تصريح وزير الداخلية محمد ابراهيم بعدم اطلاق الخرطوش علي المتظاهرين 

Statement by Enligh authorities following the deaths of Egyptian protesters in 1919. In it, they claim that English soldiers did not fire their weapons, and that the bullets were fired from guns owned by armed Egyptian groups.

Note the resemblance to current statements being issued by Arab governments.
